Unlayer
Unlayer AI

Add AI-powered content creation to your app.

Bring AI into your builders and APIs so teams can create, edit, and personalize emails, pages, documents, and templates faster.

Unlayer image editor mid-effect: an "Elevate Every Step" sneaker hero design fills the canvas with a vibrant neon-pink and blue glow behind the product, and the AI Assistant panel on the right shows a "You: Add a vibrant neon glow behind the product" prompt followed by "Applying effect..." and "Effect applied successfully! The neon glow has been added behind your product." with a preview thumbnail. The editor toolbar at the bottom shows Filter, Crop, Resize, Draw, Text, Shapes, Stickers, Frame, Corners, and AI tabs.
Generate from a brief

Turn a brief into a finished design.

Your users describe what they need. Unlayer AI drafts the copy, picks the layout, and fills in the visuals, all inside your builder.

  • Brief-to-Draft

One-sentence prompts return a complete, edit-ready design, not a blank canvas.

  • Brand-Aware Copy

Tone, voice, and glossary come from your brand kit, not a generic LLM persona.

  • Layout Suggestions

AI picks a starter layout that fits the content type, then leaves the structure editable.

Unlayer AI mid-flow on the brief-to-design task: the AI Assistant panel on the right shows the one-line brief "Create a summer sale email for our new running shoes" paired with a "Design drafted successfully" confirmation, a "Brand Tone Applied" chip, and three follow-up suggestions (add countdown timer, highlight customer reviews, add free shipping offer). The resulting email fills the canvas on the left with a "Run Further. Save More." Summer Sale headline, a hero shoe product photo, and a feature row.
Try a promptExamples
  • Write a launch email for our pricing change
  • Design a Black Friday landing page
  • Draft a 1-page sales proposal
  • Create a re-engagement campaign
Edit by chat

Edit by speaking to the canvas.

Plain-English commands run as real edits, not suggestions. Selection-aware, undoable, and tracked in version history.

  • Plain-English Commands

Make it shorter. Make it friendlier. Swap the hero. AI runs the edit on the live design.

  • Selection-Aware Edits

Highlight a block, then prompt. AI changes only what you selected, leaving the rest alone.

  • Undo & Review

Every AI edit is a single undo. Diff against the prior version before accepting.

Unlayer AI mid-chat on an image-editor canvas: the AI Assistant panel on the right shows a "You: Remove the background." prompt, followed by a "Processing..." progress state, then a "Background removed successfully" confirmation with a checkerboard preview of the cut-out chair and an "Apply changes" button. The original chair photo with its room background is still visible on the canvas to the left, alongside the editor toolbar (Filter, Crop, Resize, Draw, Text, Shapes, Stickers, Frames, AI).
Try a promptExamples
  • Shorten this section to one sentence
  • Make this paragraph friendlier
  • Swap this image for a brand-safe alt
  • Replace the CTA with "Get started"
Personalize at scale

Spin variations for every audience.

Generate audience, locale, and A/B variants from one source design. AI keeps brand voice consistent across the matrix.

  • Audience Variants

Same campaign, retuned for each segment: enterprise vs SMB, new vs returning, free vs paid.

  • Locale Variants

Translate and adapt for each market in one pass, including locale-specific imagery and dates.

  • A/B Variants

Generate test variants for subject lines, hero copy, and CTAs from a single source design.

Unlayer AI mid-flow on the personalization task: the AI Chat panel on the right shows a "You: Generate 3 variants of this campaign for Enterprise, SMB, and Startup audiences." prompt at 10:42 AM, followed by a "Generating variants..." progress state, then "Audience variants created successfully." with a "Review Variants" CTA. The source LIABOD skincare campaign fills the canvas on the left with a "Radiance, Reimagined." headline, a photo of a model holding the product, a "Shop Now" CTA, a feature row (Clean Ingredients, Dermatologist Tested, For All Skin Types), and a "Discover the Power of Balance" follow-up section.
Try a promptExamples
  • Make a version for enterprise customers
  • Generate 5 subject-line A/B tests
  • Adapt this for our LATAM segment
  • Build a reactivation variant
Translate & localize

Localize without losing brand voice.

Translate any design into 30+ languages while preserving tone, glossary, and product names. Per-segment translation memory keeps revisions consistent across campaigns.

  • 30+ Languages

Bulk-translate emails, pages, and documents with native fluency, not literal word-swaps.

  • Brand-Voice Preservation

Tone, formality, and glossary terms hold across languages so your brand reads the same everywhere.

  • Translation Memory

Approved translations carry across designs so your team revises once, not every campaign.

Unlayer AI mid-flow on the localization task: the AI Chat panel on the right shows a "You: Translate this campaign into Spanish, French, and Japanese while keeping our brand tone." prompt at 10:42 AM, followed by a "Translating design..." progress state, then "Translations completed. Brand glossary applied." with a "Review Translations" CTA. The source Wanderluxe Travel campaign fills the canvas on the left with a "Discover More. Worry Less." headline, an "Explore Now" CTA over an Amalfi-style coastal hero photo, and a "Curated Just for You" row of destination cards (Amalfi Coast, Italy from $2,199; Kyoto, Japan from $1,899; Santorini, Greece from $2,399).
Try a promptExamples
  • Translate this email into French
  • Localize the whole campaign for Japan
  • Adapt this proposal for German formality
  • Translate and resize for RTL languages
Generate images

Generate hero images and visuals inside the builder.

Generate on-brand hero shots, illustrations, and product visuals without leaving the canvas. Brand palette and reference assets anchor every generation.

  • Hero Generation

Generate hero images from a prompt, with brand colors and reference photos pinned by default.

  • Background Swaps

Replace skies, remove backgrounds, and expand canvases without leaving the editor.

  • On-Brand Illustrations

Match a brand illustration style across generations so the visual system stays coherent.

Unlayer AI mid-flow on the image-generation task: the AI Assistant panel on the right shows a "You: Generate an image of a futuristic neon city at sunset." prompt, followed by a "Generating image..." progress state, then a green-checkmark "Image generated successfully." confirmation with a preview thumbnail and an "Apply to canvas" CTA. The generated cityscape fills the canvas on the left with a pink-and-orange sunset behind towering neon-signed skyscrapers (Japanese signage including 未来都市 and ホテル), hovering vehicles, illuminated highways, and a flying car with red taillights in the foreground. The editor toolbar below shows Filter, Crop, Resize, Draw, Text (selected), Shapes, Stickers, Frame, Corners, and AI tabs.
Try a promptExamples
  • Generate a hero image for this newsletter
  • Remove the background from this product shot
  • Expand this image to 16:9
  • Restyle this photo in our brand palette
How it works

Three steps to your AI.

Bring your brand, ground the model in your content, and ship in the builders and APIs your team already uses.

  1. Bring your brand

Drop in your palette, tone-of-voice notes, glossary, and a few example designs. AI grounds every output in your brand kit.

  2. AI learns your content

Past templates, approved campaigns, and your style guide feed the model so it sounds like your team, not a generic LLM.

  3. Ship in your product

Enable AI with one SDK flag in your builder, and call the same engine from your backend through APIs, MCP, or agent skills. No model hosting, no key rotation, no separate stack to learn.

Builders and APIs

Wire AI directly into your product.

The AI engine that powers the in-builder Assistant is also reachable as a backend API. Reach it through Agent Skills, MCP, and the CLI, so the same outputs land in your product or your pipeline.

  • Agent Skills

Give Codex, Claude, and your own AI agents a typed skill surface to draft, edit, and export Unlayer designs in code.

    See Agent Skills
  • MCP

Plug Unlayer into Claude Desktop, Cursor, and any MCP-aware client. Design, editing, and export become first-class agent tools.

    See MCP
  • CLI

Let coding agents and scripts drive Unlayer from the terminal to scaffold, generate, edit, and export designs in any pipeline.

Models & data

Frontier models, on your terms.

Run the model your security team already approves. Keep ownership of your data. Bring your own key when you need to.

Models

  • Frontier model coverage

We run the latest models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. Upgrades roll out as the providers ship, with no SDK change.

  • Bring your own key

Point Unlayer at your own provider keys for billing, quota, and compliance control. Your usage stays on your account.

  • Routing for the job

Different tasks route to different models, so drafting, editing, and image generation each run on a model picked for that job.

Data handling

  • Your data never trains our models

Inputs, outputs, and design content stay yours. We do not use them to train models, and we contractually pass the same guarantee to upstream providers.

  • Configurable retention

Default short-lived processing. Choose zero retention on enterprise plans for prompts, completions, and intermediate state.

Compliance & privacy

Built for regulated teams.

The same compliance posture that runs your existing Unlayer workspace also covers everything AI touches.

  • SOC 2 Type II
  • GDPR
  • CCPA
  • Your data never trains our models

Prompts, completions, and design content stay yours. The same guarantee passes through to every upstream model provider in our contract.

  • White-label by default

Your users never see Unlayer branding on AI features. The assistant lives in your product, with your name on the door.

FAQ

Common questions.

Quick answers on models, data, pricing, and how Unlayer AI fits into a regulated stack. Still curious? Talk to the AI team.

Which AI models does Unlayer AI run?
We run the latest frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. Tasks route to the model best suited for the job: drafting and editing use general-purpose chat models, image generation runs on dedicated image models. Upgrades roll out as providers ship, with no SDK change on your side.
Can I bring my own model provider keys?
Yes. Enterprise plans support bring-your-own-key for OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. Usage stays on your account, your provider invoice covers tokens, and Unlayer never sees your billing data. The same governance you already apply to those providers extends to Unlayer AI.
Does Unlayer use my data to train models?
No. Prompts, completions, and design content are never used to train Unlayer or upstream provider models. The same guarantee passes through to every model provider in our contract. Default processing is short-lived; enterprise customers can pin zero retention on prompts, completions, and intermediate state.
Can my end users tell that AI is powered by a third party?
Not unless you want them to. AI is white-label by default, so the UI says your product name, not Unlayer. The chat panel, prompts, and outputs can all be themed and renamed to match your brand.
How does Unlayer handle AI hallucinations?
Every AI edit is a single undo and shows in the design version history, so a wrong output is one click away from being reverted. Reviewers can diff against the prior version before accepting. For high-stakes flows you can require human review before changes apply.
Where is AI processing hosted?
AI workloads run in the same infrastructure as your existing Unlayer workspace, under the same SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and CCPA posture. Prompts and completions are never used to train models, and processing is short-lived by default.
How is AI usage priced?
AI is included with paid plans up to a generous monthly quota; usage above the included tier is metered. Bring-your-own-key customers pay only their provider invoice plus a small Unlayer platform fee. Talk to sales for enterprise quotas and committed-use discounts.
Can I call the AI from my own backend, not just the builder UI?
Yes. The same AI engine that powers the embedded builder is reachable through Agent Skills, MCP, and AI Workflows. Engineers can wire AI into their own pipelines, agents, and developer tools without going through the editor at all.
